DSW Ethiopia Enhances its Visibility at the Fifth CSOs-Week
DSW Ethiopia recently had a great opportunity to present its work and specifically the SAfA (Stiftungallianz für Afrika, gGmbH) supported project. The fifth CSOs-Week, organised by the Ethiopian Civil Society Organisations Council (ECSOC), took place from 5-7 March 2026 at Addis International Convention Center (AICC) in Addis Ababa. The annual event was attended by more than 120 civil society organisations (CSOs) and several other institutions from the public and private sectors. DSW Ethiopia presented and displayed its good practices during the three-day exhibition and conference launched in the presence of high-level federal government officials led by Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister Adam Farah. Events such as this are strategically important to DSW Ethiopia, which is intent on increasing its organisational visibility, networking with partners, and exchanging experiences to identify funding opportunities. Visibility materials in the form of poster presentation designed for last year’s International Conference on Family Planning in Bogotá (Colombia) in which the Flying Nurses Model was exclusively featured, have particularly drawn the interest of a number of visitors at the exhibition.
DSW Ethiopia used this event as an opportunity to promote the various activities involving youth champions and flying nurses. The integrated youth-friendly clinics were showcased, along with sanitary health kits produced by the youth as part of the cost recovery model based on the flying nurses approach. These kits were on display for sale in a social marketing style. This exhibition event presented another opportunity for DSW Ethiopia’s team, in partnership with the HRNS Ethiopia and the Kühne Foundation, to dedicate a day exclusively to promoting the SAfA supported project. The three partner organisations have teamed up in a coordinated manner from their respective booths and made SAfA visible.
This annual event is hosted by the Authority for Civil Society Organisations (ACSOs), a federal government body that registers and certifies the more than 8,400 CSOs operating in Ethiopia. The ECSOC organises the three-day conference and exhibitions on behalf of the ACSOs. This event was hosted at the AICC’s state-of-the art multipurpose hall for the first time. The choice of the venue attracted more participants and visitors than in previous years. DSW Ethiopia’s teams and youth champions from selected projects were stationed at the exhibition booth for three days, presenting DSW’s work.
