Leaving traces: Your last will for a strong future!
We all develop strong commitments and relationships with others throughout our lives, which makes the thought of leaving it all behind one day all the more difficult. How reassuring it is to be able to plan ahead and get yout personal affairs in order today. On this page we give you an overview of how you can make a lasting impact on the lives and futures of young people in East Africa – together with Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung (DSW) and beyond your own existence. Join us in passing on your values and convictions and make a difference in the lives of many girls and boys in East Africa. We will show you how you can support our work even after your death.
A very personal matter
Deciding on your inheritance and writing your will are very personal matters. Any information you give us will be treated in the strictest confidence. You can contact us in writing or by telephone – we are always available to answer your questions. You can also find basic information on this page.
Your farewell, your choice
Would you like to make a personal contribution to making family planning available to everyone and have a positive impact on the development of the world’s population? Let us know how and where you would like to provide support and together we will find a suitable way for you to help. Whether you choose to support specific programmes, set up your own endowment fund or leave DSW a gift in your will, there are many ways you can play an active role in promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights and empowering young people to make a positive difference.
Testamentary donation
If you wish to leave a portion of your assets to DSW, you can do so in your will or inheritance contract. If you have a life insurance policy or a savings or share contract, you can also name DSW as a beneficiary.
Your endowment fund for a good cause
With an endowment fund at DSW, you can make a difference that will last far beyond your lifetime. You decide which specific projects and initiatives are important to you and how you want to organise your legacy.
Condolence donation
When a loved one passes away, relatives have a lot to organise and decide. They are often faced with the question of whether they should ask for a donation for a good cause – a condolence donation – in lieu of flowers. Addressing this issue in advance can help ease the burden on your loved ones. If DSW is a possible recipient of a condolence donation for you or for the funeral of a deceased loved one, you can include this request in the obituary. Sample wording:
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung (DSW), IBAN: DE56 2504 0066 0383 8380 00, Reference: Bereavement (name of deceased person).
If possible, please also inform us of any such appeal. This will help us to keep track of the donations we receive and, if necessary, inform the bereaved of the amount of the donation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
